An online survey asking ulcerative colitis patients in the US and Australia about their biggest concerns found 37% said it was the increased risk for colon cancer, 29% said it was the possibility of needing an ostomy and 14% cited adverse events from medications. When asked about treatment issues, 84% were most concerned about surgery and 65% about biologics.
